When I think about how I can make a difference in the world, a bunch of things come to mind but one in particular, photography.
Learning to shoot film in high school and transitioning to digital in college taught me so much about how to manipulate light and how to capture someone's true self.
Over the years, I've found myself falling more and more in love with babies. They are surely, one of the closest forms of perfection we have in the world. I love their super soft skin and their sweet baby coos. I love the connection I feel when I look through my camera seeing a mama snuggling her long awaited newborn. Or seeing a new dad, baby in arms, knowing his entire world just changed forever.
There is something so powerful about allowing yourself to be present. There is so much joy to be had when you can focus on love. This is what I aim to capture during my portrait sessions; the joy of loving each other. These are the moments you'll want to hold onto forever. This is what I'm so passionate about and what I've poured my heart and soul into being able to do.
Melissa studied at UCCC and graduated in 2013 with an associates degree in Fine Arts. It was during this time she began practicing photographing friends & family but also babies. Her sister Maggie, worked in a daycare for several years, opening the door for a bunch of really great opportunities to connect with parents. She didn't know it at the time but it was the start of her business.
